Valentines: Our Team’s POV
As we hopped on our team call, split across three time zones, to talk all things February content we quickly came to the realisation that anything “5 date night tips…” related collectively set our teeth on edge. Valentine’s doesn’t live here. There’s better things we all individually wanted to pour our energy into. So, here it is. Our teams 2024 Valentine’s pov…

Valentines is coming up however, as a Founder and CEO I’m feeling like I have way more pressing things to think about and action. One thing I am going to do for myself is to try romanticising the love in my home, the love that I share with my son as well as those in my immediate net and focus on celebrating Valentine’s day with him/ them rather than pining for the industry plant aka mainstream Valentines.
Love looks like to me… non-judgemental affection and not ‘buts’ - it’s ever flowing. As the saying goes, ‘love is kind and love is not complacent.’

This will be my first Valentine’s day single in 7.5 years. Me and my ex didn’t particularly bother with it so it’s not like I’m not out here popping pink foil balloons with scissors like a single girl in any early 00’s rom-com. But at the very least, I am avoiding any Valentine’s themed shopping aisles to dodge even the smallest of stings.
Love looks like to me like finding your way home home. It should put you at ease, so you can slip into your most authentic self because you feel seen, heard, supported and safe.
Other than third wheeling my parents plans and avoiding Facebook like the plague, I’ll be carrying on like it’s any other day. Because it is. I’ll probably journal about gratitude, eat all the sweet treats and subject myself to binging said problematic 00’s rom-coms.

Valentines is coming up I'm feeling meh, it's been so long since I've celebrated I keep forgetting it's happening lol!
One thing I'm going to do for myself is eat some chocolate and not feel bad! I'm going to treat myself to a lovely meal and not obsess over the fact that it wasn't a couple of leaves and water!
Love to me is being able to move around each other, in rhythm without needing to talk. Knowing what each other needs just by energy - this I feel happens in all types of relationships.
